Pyranometer

Pyranometer is a device that measures solar irradiance from a hemispherical field of view incident on a flat surface.

The SI units of irradiance are watts per square metre (W/m²).

Traditionally pyranometers were mainly used for climatological research and weather monitoring purposes, however recent worldwide interest in solar energy has also lead to an increased interest in pyranometers.

Depending on the model and according to ISO 9060:2018 and WMO recommendations, they are classified as:

PYRAsense10 - Spectrally Flat Class A

PYRAsense02 - Spectrally Flat Class B

PYRAsense03 - Spectrally Flat Class C

Based on a smart technology, specifically designed for this product line, all pyranometers are provided with internal diagnostic sensors to always keep the internal temperature, relative humidity, and pressure under control. Moreover, keeping an eye on the operating conditions of the sensors also allow to predict any maintenance work in advance, thus always ensuring reliable measurements. Special attention has also been given to the ease of installation: the integrated bubble level remains visible even when the UV radiation protection screen is used. In addition, the pyranometer can optionally be equipped with a tilt sensor.
